The Calzino filter is a fully automatic backpulse filter and is developed to enable filtration, self-cleaning, with the help of filteraid and filtercloths.
The filterelements are provided with a filtercloth, which gives it its filterattributes. While filtrating, the particles are collected on the filtercloth and are removed by using a liquid- or airfueled backpulse.
Because of the specific properties of the filter - a high efficiency, reliability, high output, user friendliness and little required maintenance - it has found its way into different branches of industry.
Calzino filters can be found in the chemical industry, food industry and waterfiltration. It is used a lot in, among others, the filtering of sugarprocess, saltbath water in the production of cheese, processing water in galvanic and electolitc processes and the recycling of noble metals.

The filterelements are provided with a filtercloth, which gives it its filterattributes. While filtrating, the particles are collected on the filtercloth and are removed by using a liquid- or airfueled backpulse.
Discharge of the collected particles can be done in wet or dry form, dependant on the production. Wet particles can be pumped away, dry particles can be collected in a container through the butterfly valve.
Filteraid
By using filteraid, Perlite, Diatom earth, bleaching earth, the filtration exactness and capacity can be improved.
High flowthrough
Many filterelements with a wide diameter and a big section give a high filtersurface, which enables high flow.
Little erosion because of absence of moving parts
By using liquid or air to backpulse, the collected particles are blown off of the filterelements. Because there is no actual mechanical cleaning, there is also no actual erosion.
Very cleanable
Especialy with foodapplications, the filter has to be cleanable.
Because the filter has no unused space and all the edges have been trimmed, there wont be any collected particles left after the discharging.
Especially in waterfiltration, the water will be used to pulse the collected particles off the filterelements. Then the particles will be drained away with this same water.
When chosing to have as little filtergarbage as possible, the filtercloth can be discharged as dry as possible. After the filter has been pressed empty, the collected particles are blown "dry". Afterwards they fall into the container under the filter, through a butterfly valve.
